Granzyme B is a 27-32 kDa serine protease stored in the cytotoxic granules of CD8+ T lymphocytes and natural killer cells. This Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes the protease and supports studies of cytolytic immune activity, with established relevance in tumor immunology, transplant rejection research, and viral infection models. Upon target cell recognition, Granzyme B enters the immunological synapse through perforin pores and triggers apoptosis via cleavage of caspase-3 and Bid.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, the unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum raised in rabbit. Reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse, and rat samples, enabling experimental designs ranging from murine tumor models to clinical tissue sections. The unconjugated format also accommodates custom secondary antibody pairing for immunofluorescence, chromogenic detection, or immunoprecipitation workflows.

For Western blot, lysates from activated cytotoxic T cells yield a band near the predicted molecular weight, while IHC staining highlights granule-containing lymphocytes within inflamed or tumor tissue. Aliquoting the antiserum upon receipt minimizes freeze-thaw cycles for long-term stability, with refrigerated short-term storage between uses.
