Anti-GR (phospho-S211) Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal phospho-specific reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against the glucocorticoid receptor (GR; NR3C1) and selectively recognizes the receptor only when phosphorylated at serine 211. Phosphorylation at S211 is induced by agonist binding (cortisol, dexamethasone, corticosterone) and correlates with receptor activation, nuclear translocation, and transcriptional competence, making this antibody a useful marker of glucocorticoid-driven signaling in vitro and in vivo.

The antibody is provided as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2, and is unconjugated. It is validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples. For short-term use, store refrigerated at 4 °C; for longer periods, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C or below, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve phospho-epitope recognition.

In western blot, the antibody detects a band near 94 kDa corresponding to full-length GR in lysates from glucocorticoid-treated cells, with minimal signal in untreated controls. For IHC, it is suitable for staining formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections, allowing visualization of activated receptor distribution in tissues such as hippocampus, hypothalamus, pituitary, liver, and lymphoid organs.
