Glutathione Peroxidase 4 (GPX4) is a selenium-dependent enzyme that reduces lipid hydroperoxides embedded in cell membranes and acts as the master regulator of ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of regulated cell death. The unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent supplied by Antibodies.com enables detection of GPX4 across human, mouse, and rat samples in Western Blot (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows.

Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antisera, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes on the GPX4 target, supporting sensitive detection across studies of ferroptosis in cancer cells, oxidative stress responses in neural tissue, lipid metabolism in reproductive biology, and selenium metabolism research. The unconjugated format provides flexibility to pair the reagent with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies matched to the user's preferred detection chemistry.

This Primary Antibody is intended for research use only and is validated for WB and IHC by the manufacturer. As a polyclonal reagent, it can yield stronger signal in IHC where antigen masking is a concern, while WB applications benefit from the antibody's ability to recognize both reduced and oxidized forms of GPX4 typically resolved under standard SDS-PAGE conditions.
