Anti-GPX4 Antibody

A polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com raised against GPX4 (glutathione peroxidase 4), an essential selenoprotein enzyme that reduces lipid hydroperoxides and safeguards cellular membranes from oxidative damage. This unconjugated rabbit host antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, packaged as a 100 µl vial and validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples.

GPX4 is the central suppressor of ferroptosis, an iron-dependent regulated cell death modality driven by unrestrained lipid ROS, so accurate detection of endogenous GPX4 protein underpins work in cancer cell survival, neurodegeneration, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and redox biology. Typical applications include confirming CRISPR or RNAi knockdowns of GPX4 by western blot, profiling GPX4 expression across tissue microarrays by IHC, and correlating GPX4 abundance with sensitivity or resistance to ferroptosis-inducing agents in cultured cells.

For handling, store at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to minimise freeze-thaw cycles; the included glycerol cryoprotectant permits direct dilution into standard western blot and IHC buffer systems without further buffer exchange.
