The GPR179 protein is a critical component of the mGluR6 signaling cascade in retinal ON-bipolar cells, where it forms a complex with regulators of G protein signaling (RGS) proteins including RGS7, RGS11, and the G protein beta subunit GNB5. Loss-of-function mutations in GPR179 are linked to autosomal recessive complete congenital stationary night blindness (CSNB1A2), making antibodies against this target valuable for ophthalmology and vision research.

This polyclonal antibody, raised in rabbit, is unconjugated and supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.3. It is validated for Western blot (WB) applications and reacts with human GPR179. Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody, suitable for probing GPR179 expression in retinal tissue lysates, transfected cell lines, and relevant research samples.

Provided by Antibodies.com, this reagent supports investigations into the molecular basis of night vision, photoreceptor-to-bipolar cell signal transmission, and the pathophysiology of inherited retinal disorders.
