The target GPD1 encodes glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase 1, a cytosolic NAD+-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the reversible reduction of dihydroxyacetone phosphate to glycerol-3-phosphate. This reaction sits at a metabolic branch point linking carbohydrate catabolism with phospholipid and triacylglycerol biosynthesis, and altered GPD1 activity has been implicated in transient infantile hypertriglyceridemia and adult-onset hypertriglyceridemia.

The Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum intended for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples. As a primary antibody, it can be paired with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for chemiluminescent or immunofluorescent detection of endogenous GPD1 in tissue lysates, cultured cell extracts, and fixed paraffin-embedded sections.

This product is intended for research use only. Investigators studying hepatic lipid metabolism, NAD+/NADH redox balance, or the glycerol phosphate shuttle may use it to probe expression of GPD1 in liver, skeletal muscle, and other metabolically active tissues.
