Affinity-purified rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against glypican-3 (GPC3), a GPI-anchored heparan sulfate proteoglycan expressed on the cell surface. In healthy adult tissue, GPC3 expression is highly restricted, but it becomes strongly upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and detection by immunohistochemistry is routinely used to distinguish HCC from benign hepatic lesions, cholangiocarcinoma, and metastatic adenocarcinoma in the liver. This unconjugated Antibodies.com reagent is supplied as a 100 µL vial and is validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples.

In western blot, the antibody recognizes the full-length GPI-anchored proteoglycan, which migrates as a broad band above 60 kDa owing to variable heparan sulfate chain length. For IHC, the reagent supports both formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue and cryosection workflows, and the unconjugated format allows downstream conjugation to HRP, biotin, or fluorophores as the experimental design requires. For storage, keep the vial frozen at -20°C in working aliquots to minimize freeze-thaw cycles and protect antibody activity across multiple experiments.
