Raised in rabbit against the catalytic subunit of phagocyte NADPH oxidase (also known as CYBB or NOX2), this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is suited to detecting the membrane-bound gp91-phox protein that drives the respiratory burst in neutrophils and other phagocytes. The target is implicated in X-linked chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), where loss-of-function mutations abolish superoxide generation and predispose patients to recurrent bacterial and fungal infections.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated Ig at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the antibody is validated for western blotting and immunohistochemistry applications. The polyclonal preparation is reactive against human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative work across rodent model systems and donor-derived tissue specimens. Because gp91-phox is a transmembrane glycoprotein of approximately 91 kDa, researchers commonly resolve it on SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and detect it via chemiluminescent western blot or chromogenic IHC on fixed tissue sections.

Working with the reagent: aliquot upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles, store refrigerated for routine use, and keep the glycerol-containing solution frozen for long-term preservation. Sodium azide is included as a preservative; the azide should be washed out before any application that involves live cells or HRP-conjugated secondary reagents added in solution.
