Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against gp91-phox (also known as NOX2), the catalytic membrane-bound subunit of the NADPH oxidase complex. The antibody was generated by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide derived from the internal region of the human gp91-phox protein, and the resulting antiserum was affinity-purified by affinity-chromatography using the epitope-specific immunogen to isolate target-specific immunoglobulins. Supplied as a 50 µl liquid at 1 mg/mL in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide, the unconjugated antibody is validated by the supplier for Western blotting (WB), ELISA and immunohistochemistry (IHC). The product page lists reactivity with Human, Mouse and Rat samples, supporting its use across a range of cellular and animal models for studies of the respiratory burst, phagocyte function and related redox signalling pathways. As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes on gp91-phox, which can be useful when probing denatured or variably processed forms of the protein in lysates and tissue sections. For handling, the vial is shipped at 4 °C; upon receipt it should be aliquoted and stored at −20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve binding activity. This reagent is intended for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
