This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets glycoprotein 2 (GP2), a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored protein originally identified in pancreatic zymogen granules and now widely used as a marker of intestinal M cells in the follicle-associated epithelium overlying Peyer's patches. The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, a format that tolerates standard freezer storage and resists freeze-thaw degradation during repeated experiments.

The antibody was raised in rabbit and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human tissue. In WB, it resolves the GP2 band in cell and tissue lysates; in IHC, it labels M cells in gut-associated lymphoid tissue and has been used to investigate GP2 expression in pancreatic and prostate specimens. Researchers studying mucosal immunity, microfold cell biology, gastrointestinal pathogens that exploit M-cell transcytosis, and GP2 as a candidate serological marker in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma have published with similar polyclonal reagents.

Because the product is polyclonal, it recognizes multiple epitopes on human GP2, which can improve signal on denatured or partially processed samples. The included sodium azide inhibits microbial growth for working-aliquot stability, while glycerol prevents ice-crystal damage at -20 °C storage. For HRP or fluorophore conjugation, the unconjugated format allows users to couple their own reporter, and aliquoting upon first thaw is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol stock.

Applications: WB, IHC. Host: Rabbit. Clonality: Polyclonal. Reactivity: Human. Conjugate: Unconjugated. Format: 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
