Raised in rabbit against the human GP1BB target (also known as CD42c or GPIbβ), this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com binds the ~22 kDa disulfide-linked beta subunit of the platelet GPIb-IX-V receptor complex. Each vial contains 200 µl of liquid antibody validated for western blot detection in human, mouse, and rat samples.
GP1BB pairs 1:1 with GPIbα through a single leucine-rich repeat ectodomain, contributing to proper assembly of the receptor at the platelet surface. Loss-of-function variants in this gene cause Bernard-Soulier syndrome, an autosomal recessive macrothrombocytopenia, and the antibody is frequently used to investigate platelet adhesion, megakaryocyte differentiation, and rodent models of hemostasis and thrombosis.
Store at -20°C, aliquot upon first use, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
