GP1BA (glycoprotein Ib platelet subunit alpha), also referred to as CD42b, forms part of the platelet GPIb-IX-V receptor complex that mediates initial platelet tethering to von Willebrand factor at sites of vascular injury. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets GP1BA for Western blot analysis across human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies in hemostasis, thrombosis, and platelet biology research.
The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of liquid stock at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and is suited to standard immunoblotting workflows that resolve the GP1BA band in platelet lysates or relevant cell line extracts. Polyclonal reactivity enables recognition of multiple epitopes, which is useful when evaluating expression changes in models of platelet adhesion defects such as Bernard-Soulier syndrome. Researchers should handle the product with appropriate awareness of the sodium azide preservative and avoid freeze-thaw cycles that could reduce titre over time.
