Produced in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent against the cytoplasmic aspartate aminotransferase encoded by GOT1, this unconjugated antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, with 100 µl per vial. The target is the cytosolic form of the enzyme that reversibly converts L-aspartate and 2-oxoglutarate to oxaloacetate and L-glutamate, anchoring it to studies of hepatic amino acid metabolism, redox shuttling via the malate-aspartate shuttle, and hepatocellular injury biomarkers. It has been validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows and cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting translational work in liver biology and metabolic disease models. The glycerol-containing buffer protects the protein during freeze-thaw handling, and the reagent can be diluted directly into standard immunostaining and blotting protocols.
