The Anti-GNS polyclonal antibody distributed by Antibodies.com is a research-grade reagent raised in rabbit against glucosamine (N-acetyl)-6-sulfatase, a lysosomal sulfatase that participates in the stepwise degradation of heparan sulfate. The unconjugated IgG is supplied at 1 mg/ml in a PBS buffer containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, packaged as a 100 µl vial that supports multiple western blot and immunohistochemistry experiments.

GNS deficiency is the molecular basis of mucopolysaccharidosis IIID (Sanfilippo D syndrome), so this reagent is regularly cited in studies of lysosomal storage disorders, glycosaminoglycan catabolism, and enzyme-replacement strategies. Validated applications include western blot analysis of human, mouse, and rat tissue or cell lysates, and immunohistochemistry on fixed sections to map GNS expression in brain, liver, and kidney. The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes on the target, which is useful when endogenous expression is low or when probing post-translationally modified forms of the enzyme.

For routine use, the vial should be kept refrigerated at 4 °C; for longer storage, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody integrity. Laboratories working on Sanfilippo disease models, lysosomal enzyme trafficking, or sulfatase biology can pair this primary antibody with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for downstream detection on membranes or tissue sections.
