GNAT2 encodes the alpha subunit of cone transducin, a heterotrimeric G protein that couples cone opsins to the cGMP phosphodiesterase cascade in daylight and color-vision photoreceptors. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence on human samples, providing a practical reagent for studies of cone phototransduction, retinal development, and inherited cone dystrophies such as achromatopsia. Supplied as 100 µl of antiserum, the antibody recognizes native and denatured GNAT2 and is used in investigations of G protein signaling within the outer retina. Laboratories focused on color-vision disorders, photoreceptor differentiation, or signal transduction in retinal tissue can apply it to characterize expression patterns and protein interactions in cell-based and tissue-based assays.
