Glia maturation factor beta (GMF-beta) is a small, approximately 17 kDa brain-enriched protein that drives neuroinflammatory signaling through MAPK and ERK pathway activation in astrocytes and other glial cells. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against a human GMF-beta immunogen and supports two workflows widely used in neurodegeneration and glial biology research: Western blot detection of endogenous GMF-beta in cell or tissue lysates, and immunohistochemistry on fixed brain sections where it can label reactive astrocytes in lesions of multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and related glial scar models.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µL of antiserum in a single vial, sufficient for several blotting membranes or multiple IHC slides depending on dilution. The host species is rabbit, the clonality is polyclonal, and the conjugate is unconjugated, so the reagent can be paired with a wide range of secondary reporters in custom labeling protocols. To preserve activity, keep the vial refrigerated, prepare working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light during storage.
