GM2A (GM2 ganglioside activator protein) is a small lysosomal protein that presents GM2 ganglioside to hexosaminidase A for cleavage. Loss-of-function mutations in the GM2A gene cause the AB variant of Tay-Sachs disease, making this target relevant to neurodegeneration and lysosomal storage disorder research.
This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against GM2A and validated for Western blot. The unconjugated IgG reagent is supplied as 50 µl of serum, ready for probing GM2A expression in human, mouse, and rat samples. Polyclonal recognition of multiple epitopes on GM2A can improve signal across denatured protein preparations.
For Western blot, dilute the antibody according to your standard protocol and detect with an anti-rabbit IgG secondary reagent. Endogenous GM2A can be detected in cell and tissue lysates, supporting studies of ganglioside catabolism, sphingolipid metabolism, and lysosomal hydrolase cofactors.
