Anti-GM2A Antibody

A rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com raised against GM2 ganglioside activator protein, a small lysosomal cofactor required for β-hexosaminidase A-mediated hydrolysis of GM2 gangliosides. Mutations in GM2A cause the AB variant of GM2-gangliosidosis, a Tay-Sachs-like lysosomal storage disorder, making this antibody relevant for studies of ganglioside catabolism, neuronal lipid homeostasis, and lysosomal disease research.

Supplied as a 200 µl volume of unconjugated IgG, this polyclonal antibody is validated for Western blot detection of the GM2A target in human, mouse, and rat samples. The reagent is routinely used at working dilutions in blocking buffer for immunoblotting of cell and tissue lysates, enabling visualization of the ~22 kDa GM2A activator band. Store aliquots at -20°C in single-use vials to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity, and protect from light during handling.
