The GM2 ganglioside activator protein (GM2A) is a small lysosomal glycoprotein that acts as a substrate-specific cofactor for the enzyme β-hexosaminidase A, enabling hydrolysis of GM2 ganglioside and related glycolipids within the lysosome. Deficiencies in GM2A are linked to the AB variant of GM2 gangliosidosis, a Tay-Sachs–like lysosomal storage disorder, making antibodies against this target useful for studies of neurodegeneration and lipid catabolism.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against the GM2A target and is validated for Western blot detection across human, mouse, and rat samples. Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antibody, it enables researchers to probe endogenous GM2A expression in cell and tissue lysates, supporting workflows in neuroscience, lysosomal biology, and ganglioside metabolism research. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with secondary reagents of the researcher's choice.

Recommended storage is at -20 °C in working aliquots to preserve activity and minimize freeze-thaw cycles, with short-term refrigeration appropriate for active use.
