Glypican-3 (GPC3) is a GPI-anchored cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycan well studied as a tissue-restricted biomarker of hepatocellular carcinoma and of yolk sac and other germ cell tumors. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against GPC3 and supplied as 100 µl of stock for immunoblotting and ELISA workflows.

The antibody recognizes endogenous GPC3 in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting translational research across species. Because GPC3 expression is largely silenced in healthy adult liver but reactivated in malignant hepatocytes, western blots resolve a characteristic band near the expected core-protein molecular weight, while ELISA-based detection can be used to quantify GPC3 levels in cell culture supernatants and clarified tissue lysates.

Aliquot the antibody upon first thaw and store at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve consistent titer across replicate experiments. The polyclonal format provides broader epitope coverage than monoclonal reagents, which is advantageous when probing denatured GPC3 in western blot applications where multiple regions of the protein are accessible to antibodies.
