This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically targets human Glycophorin A (GYPA, also designated CD235a), the major sialoglycoprotein of the erythrocyte plasma membrane that carries the MN blood group determinants. The unconjugated IgG reagent is supplied as 100 µg in liquid form and is validated for western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry (ICC) workflows on human samples. Because Glycophorin A expression is restricted to the erythroid lineage, this reagent is commonly used to identify and characterize developing and mature red blood cells, including studies of erythropoiesis, RBC membrane organization, and sialic acid–mediated cell–cell interactions. Store the antibody frozen at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and avoid prolonged exposure to light. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
