The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody targets glycine dehydrogenase (GLDC), the mitochondrial P-protein of the glycine cleavage system that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of glycine to yield CO2, NH3, and a methylenetetrahydrofolate-bound one-carbon unit feeding one-carbon metabolism. Raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, this unconjugated primary reagent is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human samples, giving laboratories flexibility in probing GLDC abundance across lysates, cultured cells, and fixed tissue sections. Researchers investigating disorders of glycine catabolism such as glycine encephalopathy (nonketotic hyperglycinemia), mitochondrial enzyme biogenesis, and the metabolic reprogramming reported in certain solid tumors use this reagent to track GLDC expression and subcellular localization. Because the antibody is unconjugated, it pairs cleanly with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-labeled secondary antibodies to suit the chosen detection workflow.
