Raised in rabbit as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent, this primary antibody from Antibodies.com detects human glutamate carboxypeptidase 2, the Type II transmembrane metallopeptidase also referred to as PSMA, FOLH1, or NAALADase. The target is studied extensively in prostate cancer research because of its strong overexpression on prostatic epithelial cells and on the neovasculature of many solid tumors, and it is also investigated in neurobiology for its role in cleaving N-acetylaspartylglutamate (NAAG) and modulating glutamatergic signaling in the central nervous system.
