GLUT3 (also called SLC2A3) is the high-affinity facilitative glucose transporter that supplies neurons with glucose, and changes in its expression are studied in cerebral ischemia, epilepsy, neurodegenerative disease, and brain tumor biology. The Antibodies.com anti-GLUT3 polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit and provided as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human tissue. In published workflows, anti-GLUT3 antibodies of this type are used to localize the transporter in cortical and hippocampal neurons, to quantify shifts in neuronal glucose uptake during metabolic stress, and to compare GLUT3 and GLUT1 levels in glioma samples. The unconjugated format allows researchers to pair the antibody with HRP, biotin, or fluorescent secondary reagents of their choice for chromogenic or immunofluorescence detection. For research use only.
