GLUT1 (Glucose Transporter 1, encoded by the SLC2A1 gene) is a 55 kDa facilitative hexose transporter responsible for basal glucose uptake across the plasma membrane in many cell types, including erythrocytes, brain capillary endothelium, and a broad range of tumor lines. This unconjugated rabbit monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against human GLUT1 and cross-reacts with mouse and rat orthologs, making it a versatile tool for studies of glucose metabolism, the Warburg effect in cancer biology, blood-brain barrier function, and GLUT1 deficiency syndrome.

Validated across multiple experimental workflows, the antibody supports western blot analysis of total GLUT1 expression, immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) imaging of subcellular membrane localization, immunohistochemistry (IHC) on formalin-fixed tissue sections, and flow cytometry (FC) for surface expression profiling. Each vial is supplied as 100 µl of recombinant antibody in TBS (pH 7.4) supplemented with 1% BSA and 40% glycerol, with 0.05% sodium azide added as preservative; the formulation is intended for refrigerated storage at 4°C, and the unconjugated format gives researchers freedom to conjugate the antibody to their preferred fluorophore, biotin, or HRP label.
