This polyclonal rabbit antibody from Antibodies.com targets GLUT2 (SLC2A2), the facilitative glucose transporter responsible for low-affinity, high-capacity hexose movement across the plasma membrane of hepatocytes, pancreatic beta-cells, intestinal enterocytes, and renal tubular epithelium. The reagent is supplied in a 100 µl vial as an unconjugated whole-antibody preparation at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, with rabbit host and polyclonal clonality chosen for broad epitope coverage of the 12-transmembrane domain transporter.

Validated for Western blot detection in human and rat samples, this primary antibody is intended for research use only and supports investigations into hepatic glucose output, beta-cell glucose sensing, intestinal absorption, and renal glucose handling. Working concentrations for immunoblotting generally fall between 0.5 and 2 µg/ml depending on sample abundance and detection chemistry, and the vial should be stored refrigerated at 4 degrees C for short-term use, or aliquoted and frozen at -20 degrees C for longer-term storage to preserve antigen-binding activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Because GLUT2 expression shifts in metabolic disease, this reagent is widely used in type 2 diabetes research, hepatic insulin resistance studies, and models of glucose homeostasis, where it can be paired with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent or fluorescent Western blot readout of membrane-enriched cellular fractions.
