GluR5 (GRIK1) is a subunit of the kainate-type ionotropic glutamate receptor that mediates fast excitatory synaptic transmission throughout the central nervous system. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against GluR5 and validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. It recognizes the target in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species neuroscience research and receptor expression profiling. Supplied at 100 µl per vial, the polyclonal antibody is provided unconjugated so it can be paired with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents of the researcher's choice. Typical applications include mapping kainate receptor distribution in brain tissue sections, probing GluR5-containing complexes in transfected cell lines, and characterizing receptor expression in primary neuronal cultures.
