GluR-1, also called GluA1 or GRIA1, is the pore-forming subunit of AMPA-type ionotropic glutamate receptors that mediate fast excitatory synaptic transmission throughout the central nervous system. Phosphorylation of the GluR-1 C-terminus at Ser831 by CaMKII and at Ser845 by PKA controls receptor trafficking, single-channel conductance, and the expression of long-term potentiation, making this subunit a heavily cited marker in studies of synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory.

Antibodies.com supplies this GluR-1 antibody as an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against a GluR-1 immunogen. The antibody has been validated for use on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting work across rodent disease models and human post-mortem or biopsy tissue. Reported applications span western blot analysis of receptor subunit expression, immunohistochemistry for distribution in brain sections, immunofluorescence imaging of synaptic puncta, and ELISA for quantitative detection in research samples.

The product is provided as a 100 µl liquid aliquot in a single vial. For best stability, store frozen, protect from light, and dispense into single-use working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw damage. Refrigerated short-term storage is acceptable for active working stocks, and a brief centrifugation of the vial before opening collects liquid from the cap.
