Raised in rabbit against the glucagon peptide, this polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com binds the proglucagon-derived hormone expressed in pancreatic alpha cells and intestinal L-cells. The unconjugated format lets researchers pair it with any compatible secondary antibody or label, and the reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum for western blot and immunofluorescence workflows.
Validated reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples makes it a useful reagent for studying alpha-cell biology, islet architecture in diabetes models, and the counter-regulatory axis between glucagon and insulin. The polyclonal nature of the antibody increases the likelihood of recognizing multiple epitopes on the 29-amino-acid mature hormone, supporting detection in denatured western blot samples as well as fixed-tissue immunofluorescence preparations.
