The glycine receptor beta subunit (GLRB) is a ligand-gated chloride channel that mediates fast inhibitory neurotransmission throughout the central nervous system. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the human GLRB protein and is supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation in a 200 µl volume.
Validated for Western blot workflows, it supports studies of glycinergic signaling in spinal cord and brainstem tissue, motor control pathways, and the molecular basis of hyperekplexia, a startle disorder linked to GLRB mutations. Researchers should keep the antibody refrigerated upon arrival, aliquot on first use, and protect it from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity.
The polyclonal format provides broad epitope recognition against multiple regions of the beta subunit, enabling reproducible detection of endogenous GLRB expression in human-derived lysates for basic neuroscience and neuropharmacology research applications.
