Offered through the Antibodies.com catalogue, this primary antibody is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against GLRA1 (Glycine receptor subunit alpha-1), a ligand-gated chloride channel widely studied in neuroscience and ion-channel receptor research. The immunogen is a synthetic peptide derived from the human GLRA1 sequence, and the antibody has been affinity-purified against that immunogen to enrich for target-specific immunoglobulins. Supplied unconjugated in a 50 µl aliquot at approximately 1 mg/ml, it is formulated in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl) containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, and is recommended for storage at -20 °C. According to the supplier's published validation images, the reagent produces clean bands on HeLa cell lysate and mouse brain tissue by Western blot, and gives specific staining on paraffin-embedded human oesophagus cancer sections by immunohistochemistry. It is therefore officially listed for WB and IHC applications, with reactivity confirmed against human, mouse and rat samples. Alternative names covered by the antiserum include Glycine receptor 48 kDa subunit and Glycine receptor strychnine-binding subunit. The product is supplied for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic work.
