Glycerol kinase (GK) is the ATP-dependent enzyme that phosphorylates glycerol to glycerol-3-phosphate, anchoring glycerol entry into glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, and lipid biosynthesis. The Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against GK recognizes the human, mouse, and rat orthologs, giving laboratories one reagent for comparative studies in metabolic disease research, including glycerol kinase deficiency and hepatic energy homeostasis.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. The unconjugated format leaves the choice of fluorophore, HRP, or biotin labeling to the investigator's workflow. Validated applications include Western blot for protein-level detection in cell and tissue lysates, and immunocytochemistry for subcellular localization in fixed cells. The polyclonal backbone provides epitope diversity, useful when probing orthologs that differ at individual residues between species. Refrigerate the vial upright and protect from light to preserve the formulation.
