Anti-GJB6 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the gap junction protein GJB6, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl vial of antiserum for research use only. The antibody recognizes Connexin 30 (Cx30), the protein product of the GJB6 gene, which assembles into hexameric connexons that dock between adjacent cells to form intercellular gap junction channels. Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, the reagent reacts with both human and mouse Cx30 and is commonly applied to map expression in cochlear sensory epithelium, epidermal keratinocytes, and brain astrocytes. On Western blot, detection of the mature protein is observed near 30 kDa, while immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections reveals the characteristic membrane-staining pattern between neighboring cells. Aliquots are recommended for long-term storage: keep working stocks refrigerated at 4°C and freeze single-use aliquots at -20°C or colder to preserve activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles, while protecting the unconjugated IgG from light and microbial contamination during handling.
