Connexin 43 (Cx43), encoded by the GJA1 gene, is the most widely expressed gap junction protein and assembles into channels that couple adjacent cells electrically and metabolically. Phosphorylation at serine 368 is a key regulatory switch controlling Cx43 channel gating, plaque assembly, and internalization in response to PKC and other kinase signaling pathways.

Produced in rabbit and purified as polyclonal IgG, this reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl aliquot and selectively recognizes Cx43 only when phosphorylated at S368, enabling studies of dynamic gap junction remodeling. The antibody is unconjugated, giving researchers flexibility to pair it with a secondary reagent of their choice.

Validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), the antibody cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat Connexin 43, supporting work in cardiac, neural, and epithelial model systems. For storage, aliquot the vial upon arrival and keep frozen at -20°C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve phospho-epitope recognition. Intended for research use only in vitro studies and laboratory analysis.
