Offered by Antibodies.com as part of its Primary Antibodies portfolio, this mouse monoclonal reagent is raised against the protozoan parasite Giardia lamblia (also referred to as G. lamblia or Giardia intestinalis). The immunoglobulin is supplied as a Protein A-purified monoclonal antibody in an unconjugated format, presented at the 1 mg pack size as a liquid IgG1 (kappa light chain) preparation generated in mouse hosts. According to the supplier, the antibody is validated for use in ELISA, IFA (immunofluorescence assay) and Western blot (WB) workflows, making it suitable for the detection of Giardia lamblia cysts and trophozoite antigens across immunoassay development and research applications. Reactivity is reported specifically against Giardia lamblia, with no cross-reactivity to related enteric organisms such as Campylobacter spp., Clostridium difficile, Cryptosporidium parvum, Escherichia coli, Helicobacter pylori, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Staphylococcus aureus or Entamoeba histolytica, which supports its use as a selective reagent in stool and water testing matrices. For handling, the supplier recommends short-term storage at 4 °C upon receipt and long-term storage at -20 °C in aliquots, with avoidance of repeated freeze/thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity; the product is intended for research use only and is not cleared for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This reagent is a strong candidate for laboratories developing Giardia-specific immunoassays, lateral-flow tests, or confirmatory immunofluorescence and immunoblot protocols targeting the 65 kDa Giardia-specific antigen (GSA-65) or whole-organism preparations.
