Produced in rabbits, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody recognizes endogenous GGT1 (gamma-glutamyltransferase 1), the membrane-anchored enzyme that initiates the gamma-glutamyl cycle by transferring gamma-glutamyl groups from glutathione onto acceptor amino acids and short peptides. Distributed by Antibodies.com as 100 µL of liquid reagent, the antibody has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies of glutathione turnover, xenobiotic metabolism, oxidative stress, and tissue-specific expression in kidney, liver, biliary epithelium, and tumor models.

Because its catalytic domain faces the extracellular face of the plasma membrane, GGT1 is widely used as a marker of cell-surface polarity, proximal tubule identity in renal sections, and bile-duct epithelium in liver tissue. Western blot applications allow tracking of pro-protein processing and the relative abundance of the mature heavy and light chains generated by autocatalytic cleavage of the precursor, while immunohistochemistry on fixed sections reveals the characteristic apical distribution of the enzyme in polarized epithelia.
