Raised in rabbit against the human gamma-glutamyltransferase 1 (GGT1) protein, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is provided as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, ready to dilute into Western blot workflows.

GGT1 is a membrane-bound ectoenzyme that cleaves gamma-glutamyl bonds in glutathione and related conjugates, connecting extracellular redox balance, amino acid recovery, and mercapturic acid detoxification. It concentrates at the apical surface of hepatocytes and renal tubular epithelium, and altered GGT1 levels are routinely examined in studies of liver injury, cholestasis, drug-induced toxicity, and tumor progression.

The unconjugated antibody recognizes endogenous GGT1 in human, mouse, and rat samples, enabling comparative work across standard preclinical models. For long-term storage, aliquot the 1 mg/ml stock and keep frozen at -20 °C, protect from light, and limit freeze-thaw cycles; the sodium azide in the formulation inhibits microbial growth for routine benchtop handling. Intended for research use only.
