GGPS1 (Geranylgeranyl Diphosphate Synthase 1) is a farnesyltransferase-family enzyme that catalyzes the final condensation step in the mevalonate pathway, producing geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate (GGPP) from farnesyl pyrophosphate and isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP). This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as an unconjugated antiserum in a 200 µl volume, intended for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples. GGPS1 supports post-translational prenylation of small GTPases such as Rho, Rac, and Rab, and the antibody is commonly used to investigate isoprenoid biosynthesis, statin pharmacology, osteoblast differentiation, and tumor metabolic reprogramming where the mevalonate pathway is upregulated. Storage at 4°C in aliquoted form preserves antibody activity for repeat use, and the polyclonal format increases the likelihood of detecting multiple epitopes across the target protein.
