GGCX (gamma-glutamyl carboxylase) is a vitamin K-dependent enzyme that catalyzes post-translational carboxylation of glutamate residues in clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X, as well as osteocalcin and other Gla-domain proteins. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

The 100 µl pack size supports multiple immunoblots and IHC staining runs, while the polyclonal composition recognises several epitopes across the carboxylase target, improving tolerance for minor antigen variation. Because the formulation ships in 50% glycerol, the stock should be stored frozen at -20°C and dispensed into working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw exposure and preserve antibody activity across repeated experiments. The unconjugated format also leaves the antibody open to downstream labelling with fluorophores, biotin, or HRP according to the assay design.

Investigators working on hepatic vitamin K metabolism, bone Gla-protein maturation, warfarin pharmacology, and coagulation cascade biology in cell and tissue models can use this reagent to probe endogenous GGCX expression, subcellular localisation in the endoplasmic reticulum, and changes in carboxylation capacity under genetic or pharmacological perturbation.
