Anti-GFP Tag Antibody

Mouse polyclonal antibody targeting Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) Tag, supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl liquid format. The reagent is unconjugated and of the IgG isotype, raised in mouse hosts and intended for use in western blot, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation workflows.

GFP is a 27 kDa reporter protein widely expressed as a fusion partner in transfected cells, transgenic organisms, and recombinant constructs. Polyclonal antibodies raised against full-length GFP or its epitope variants recognize both GFP and its commonly used derivatives, including EGFP, YFP, and CFP, enabling downstream detection of tagged proteins in lysates, fixed cells, and tissue sections.

For western blot, the antibody is typically applied to nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes bearing transferred GFP-fusion protein samples. In immunofluorescence, it serves to localize tagged proteins within fixed cells mounted on glass slides. Immunoprecipitation workflows use the unconjugated IgG to pull down GFP-tagged complexes from cell lysates under non-denaturing conditions, after which bound material can be analyzed by SDS-PAGE and mass spectrometry.

The reagent ships at 100 µl volume and is intended for research use only. Storage recommendations generally call for aliquoting upon receipt and freezing at -20 °C in single-use portions to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity across repeated experiments.
