The Antibodies.com Anti-GFP monoclonal antibody is raised in mouse (IgG1 isotype) and recognizes Green Fluorescent Protein, the 27 kDa reporter originally cloned from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria. Because it binds the GFP polypeptide itself rather than the underlying fusion partner, the reagent is commonly used to detect GFP-, EGFP-, and YFP-tagged constructs expressed in transfected cells, transgenic tissues, or in vitro translated samples.

This unconjugated antibody has been validated for Western blot, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows, and is supplied as a liquid in a 100 µg vial. Suggested starting concentrations are 1–2 µg/mL for Western blot, 1–2 µg per IP reaction, and a 1:100 to 1:500 dilution for immunofluorescence on paraformaldehyde-fixed cells. The reagent pairs cleanly with standard anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies conjugated to HRP, Alexa Fluor dyes, or biotin.

Store the antibody at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light. Short-term storage at 4 °C for up to two weeks is acceptable. The product is intended for research use only.
