GFAP (Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein) is a class III intermediate filament protein that serves as a well-established astrocyte and glial cell marker in neuroscience and neuropathology research. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the GFAP protein and has been reported for use in western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. With demonstrated reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples, the antibody supports cross-species studies of astrocyte biology, glial scar formation, neurodegeneration, and central nervous system development. Each vial is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum suitable for multiplex labeling when paired with secondary antibodies of choice, and the polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the GFAP target. Store the antibody refrigerated between uses to preserve reagent performance across repeated experiments.
