Anti-GFAP Antibody

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this affinity-purified polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit and targets glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), an astrocyte-specific intermediate filament marker widely used in neuroscience and pathology workflows. The antibody is supplied as a 50 µL liquid preparation at 1 mg/mL, formulated in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide, and is provided unconjugated to give researchers full flexibility for downstream labelling. It was generated against a synthetic peptide derived from human GFAP around the non-phosphorylation site of S38 and, following epitope-specific affinity chromatography from rabbit antiserum, detects endogenous levels of total GFAP protein in human samples. Validated applications include Western blotting (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) and ELISA, making the reagent suitable for confirmatory immunoblots, fixed-tissue staining, cell-based imaging and quantitative immunoassays. The antibody is shipped on cold packs at 4 °C; upon receipt it should be aliquoted and stored at −20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve binding activity.
