Anti-GFAP Antibody

Produced by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against GFAP (Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein) and supplied as an unconjugated IgG antibody. It is validated for Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, and reacts with Human, Mouse and Rat samples. The brand also offers alternative recombinant GFAP antibody formats — a rabbit monoclonal (clone GFAP/8255R) validated for IHC-P on Human samples and supplied BSA and azide free, and a mouse monoclonal (clone rASTRO/789) validated for Flow Cytometry, WB and IHC-P across Human, Mouse, Rat, Bovine, Porcine, Rabbit and Chicken samples — both of which recognise a ~50 kDa target with no cross-reaction to other intermediate filament proteins.

The polyclonal reagent was generated against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 350-432 of human GFAP (NP_002046.1) and purified by affinity chromatography, with a reported target molecular weight of 52 kDa. It is supplied as a liquid in Phosphate Buffered Saline (pH 7.3) containing 50% glycerol and 0.01% thiomersal, shipped at 4°C for storage at -20°C after aliquoting, with freeze/thaw cycles to be avoided. Recommended working dilutions are WB 1:100-1:500, IHC 1:50-1:200 and ICC/IF 1:50-1:200, and the reagent is supported by 9 scientific validation images.
