GEMIN2, also known as SIP1, is a core constituent of the survival motor neuron (SMN) complex that mediates the cytoplasmic assembly of small nuclear ribonucleoproteins. This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against GEMIN2 and is validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous protein in human and mouse samples. The unconjugated preparation is supplied as 200 µl of antiserum and is intended for research use only, supporting studies in motor neuron biology, snRNP biogenesis, and spinal muscular atrophy where altered SMN complex function is investigated. Because the antibody recognizes an epitope conserved between the two reactive species, it is well suited to comparative expression work across human cell lines and murine tissue lysates, where a single primary reagent can be applied to both organisms without changing detection conditions.
