Raised in rabbit against Growth Differentiation Factor 15, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com detects GDF15, a secreted 25 kDa stress-responsive cytokine of the TGF-β superfamily. It is supplied as a 50 µl vial and is validated for Western Blot (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows, with confirmed reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples.

GDF15, also referred to as MIC-1, NAG-1, PDF, or PTGFB, is upregulated during cellular stress, inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and tissue injury, and is widely investigated as a circulating biomarker and signaling molecule in cancer cachexia, heart failure, kidney injury, and metabolic disease research. This polyclonal IgG antibody recognizes epitopes on the mature GDF15 protein, supporting detection of endogenous expression across whole-cell lysates, tissue homogenates, and fixed tissue sections.

For Western Blot, the antibody is suitable for probing nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes following SDS-PAGE, and for IHC it can be applied to paraffin-embedded or frozen tissue sections after standard antigen retrieval. The unconjugated format gives researchers flexibility to pair the reagent with their preferred detection system, including HRP-conjugated secondaries for chromogenic staining or fluorescently labeled secondaries for multiplex imaging. The antibody has been validated on human, mouse, and rat samples.

For short-term use, store at 2 to 8 degrees C; for long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -20 degrees C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles and protecting the vial from light. This rabbit polyclonal anti-GDF15 reagent is intended for research use only in studies of stress response, oncology, cardiovascular biology, and metabolic disease.
