The polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against Growth Differentiation Factor 10 (GDF10), a secreted signaling protein of the TGF-β superfamily also designated BMP-3b. It is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum intended for Western blot detection of endogenous GDF10 in human, mouse, and rat samples. The antibody recognizes epitopes within the mature ligand region commonly referenced in published BMP studies and is validated on whole-cell lysates and tissue homogenates separated by SDS-PAGE, transferred to nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes, and developed with HRP-conjugated secondary reagents.

GDF10 is best known for its role in skeletal biology, where it regulates cranial suture morphogenesis, osteoblast differentiation, and bone formation. Research uses include probing BMP signaling in fracture repair models, characterizing mesenchymal stem cell commitment toward osteogenic or adipogenic lineages, and examining expression patterns in developing neural tissue. The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes on the target, useful when probing both full-length precursor and processed ligand forms that may coexist in the same lysate. Storage at -20 °C in working aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles, with brief centrifugation before use to recover any aggregated immunoglobulin.

Recommended starting dilution for Western blot is 1:500 to 1:2000 depending on antigen abundance, with overnight incubation at 4 °C and a rabbit HRP secondary at 1:5000 to 1:10000. Researchers studying bone morphogenetic protein signaling, skeletal development, or related TGF-β pathways will find this reagent a useful primary detection tool.
