Raised in rabbit against human Growth Differentiation Factor 3 (GDF-3), this polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as an unconjugated 100 µl liquid aliquot, ready for direct incorporation into Western blot and ELISA workflows against the GDF-3 target.

GDF-3 is a secreted signaling molecule of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily, broadly studied for its role in early embryonic patterning, mesoderm specification, and the maintenance of pluripotency in human stem cell populations. The reagent is reactive with human GDF-3, making it well matched to research programs investigating developmental biology, stem cell pluripotency markers, adipocyte differentiation signaling, and cartilage biology. It also serves as a detection reagent in cancer cell line studies where reactivation of developmental signaling pathways has been reported.

Provided unconjugated at 100 µl per vial, the antibody is compatible with chromogenic or chemiluminescent Western blot detection on human cell lysates and tissue extracts. For immunoblotting, primary antibody working concentrations are determined empirically per antigen abundance, with typical starting dilutions in the 1:500 to 1:2000 range. Pairing the reagent with an HRP- or alkaline phosphatase-labeled anti-rabbit secondary preserves flexibility across standard immunoblotting and ELISA plate-based detection.

The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives, increasing the likelihood of detecting GDF-3 even when conformational changes or post-translational modifications are present in the sample. For downstream flexibility, the unconjugated format allows the end user to pair the antibody with custom reporter systems, including fluorescent, biotinylated, or gold-conjugated secondaries depending on the assay platform.
