Anti-GCNT1 Antibody

Raised in rabbits against the human GCNT1 protein, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG primary antibody is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 50 µl aliquot for Western blot detection. GCNT1 encodes β-1,3-galactosyl-O-glycosyl-glycoprotein β-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase (C2GnT1), a Golgi-resident glycosyltransferase that transfers N-acetylglucosamine from UDP-GlcNAc onto core 1 O-glycans to generate the branched core 2 structure found on mucin-type glycoproteins. Because the reagent is reactive with the human target, it is well suited to probing GCNT1 protein levels in cultured cell line lysates and tissue extracts, supporting work on mucin-type O-glycan biosynthesis, leukocyte selectin-ligand assembly, and cancer-associated glycosylation changes such as those linked to altered epithelial-mesenchymal phenotypes.
