Anti-Gcn5p Antibody

The Antibodies.com Anti-Gcn5p Antibody is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against the Gcn5p catalytic subunit of the SAGA (Spt-Ada-Gcn5 Acetyltransferase) complex in Schizosaccharomyces pombe. Gcn5p is a histone acetyltransferase that targets lysine residues on histones H3 and H2B, supporting chromatin remodeling and transcriptional activation at inducible promoters in fission yeast. This unconjugated IgG reagent is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous Gcn5p from S. pombe lysates and is supplied as 100 µl of liquid in a vial. For optimal stability, store at -20 °C, aliquot on receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light until use. Because the antibody is polyclonal, it recognizes multiple epitopes on Gcn5p, giving robust signal coverage for studies of chromatin modification, transcription regulation, and the SAGA coactivator complex.
